Your content goes here. Edit or remove this text inline or in the module Content settings. You can also style every aspect of this content in the module Design settings and even apply custom CSS to this text in the module Advanced settings.

With that being said, if you are already using video for your business, congratulations! If not, you need to get started if you want to reach more audience and grow your business

Algorithm works in your favour:

When you are live on Facebook, because you are interacting with people there and then, the algorithm works in your favour

In a live session, people are asking you questions, you are asking them questions, and there is interaction going on.

High engagement, is an indication the content is of value to audience, hence the video gets wider reach

Seven steps for going live on Facebook

1. Structure

Think about a hook, that gets people’s attention to stop and listen to what you have to say, an introduction to the session, the content you are going to share, a summary and a call to action.

2. Pick a location

It is important to ensure that where you are doing a live Facebook session is a quiet place with no interruption so you can concentrate in delivering the content.

If you are outside, ensure that there is not a lot of noise, for instance cars passing by, strong wind blowing, planes flying by or even people interrupting every now and then

3. Check Internet speed

Test your Internet speed to ensure that the upload speed is good enough during the live streaming

To check the speed, go to www.speedtest.net and you will be able to know whether the speed Internet speed level is high enough to sustain the connection for the duration of the show.

Upload speed of 2.25 mhz should be enough for the live stream.

4. Get Everything set up

Ensure you have adequate light present. This could be natural light or video light. A ring light is enough. Also pay attention to the audio, preferably using a mic

Place camera on a stable stand, for instance a tripod, so the video is not shaky

5. Do a pre-run broadcast

Broadcast your livestream to the ‘only me’ section on Facebook and listen to ensure the sound and everything is fine. Also go through the script so that you are familiar and fluent with the flow of the presentation. Lastly, check the recorded video beforehand.

6. Let people know you are going live

Informing people that you are going live on Facebook could increase the attendance rate for your live show.

Posting on social media, messenger, DM on other platforms as well as email

7. Go live

Once you get started you do not need to wait for people and keep others waiting

After your hook, go straight to the point, look directly on the camera, if there happens to be any interruption in the location move to a different place. Batch questions or interaction time so that the flow of the conversation is not interrupted

The software liveleap is a great tool to help with your posting as soon as you start the live show

These are the seven points that you need to know/do before you go live

I hope you would start with your Facebook live from today or if you’re already doing lives, great on you. Keep going and make sure that you put the steps in place to increase attendance for your lives you
